Happy 4th Birthday Ninja Boy

It's been a crazy few days, as usual! Yesterday we received a package in the mail from Maryanne which made Finn and Morgan just explode in excitement....a birthday cake cookbook, toy fish, stickers of fish....

Morgy loves his baby sister

Then Alec said goodbye to his best mate in the whole world, VJ. Sad to see such great neighbours leave...fingers x'd our next are as great. Good luck in Useless Loop Courts!

Then Finns Bday today, started with the unwrapping...he got Ninja Turtles, ninja weapons, a bag of soft plastic lures and a fish book.

A crossbow, yay!

Ellowyn in green all ready to party TMNT style

His "forks', weapon of choice for Ninja Turtles

Getting busy decoration turtle shells & weapons

His Ninja Turtle party was heaps of fun, with everyone decorating and wearing their turtle shells and having a ball with their pool-noodle weapons.

Cowabunga dude!

Mission: Find the PERFECT fishing spot

This is a difficult mission up here without a boat. Must be child-friendly, free of sandflies, as mud-less as possible, shade is nice...every exploration so far has been a FAIL. But we came pretty close to perfect last weekend at Dampier...drove down on the beach. 6 mullet on first cast of the net...but the big one got away. Again. But the kids had a ball.

The scenery is a bit different up here...

Practising his throw net technique

Sams Island, some crazy hermit lives there apparently

Finn has his own throw net, just like dad

Look at Dave cast that throw net...what a pro

Welcome! Bye bye Facebook, hello Blog world

Faced with the problem of not wanting to be on Facebook but wanting to share our new adventures with all our friends and family.....I am now a blogger!! Hopefully now I can share photos of the kiddies and keep you all updated with whats going down up here in the wild wild west...which is exactly how Dave and I like to describe Karratha, or K-town as the locals like to refer to it in cyberspace!
Feeling totally liberated from Facebook which was taking up too much time. Also now have a much cleaner house (shock, horror :p) and started going to the gym and meditation...life is good up here in the Pilbara so far, anyway.

Here are some of the Scott's latest antics

Picnic at the Dampier foreshore......loverly!!

Some shots of our front yard...from our driveway you can literally see planes landing and taking off from Karratha airport (without any noise..bonus), the massive iron ore train that is about 10 kms long, a gas plant...or something that shoots this big flame thingy from the top (can you tell I am a mining town newbie?), and a load of huge machinery building a highway. Keeps the boys entertained without leaving the house. Boomtown, for sure.

We have some gorgeous wildflowers up here

And we have some stunning sunsets
